Region Seefeld – winter sports & family time

Cross-country skiing, ski slopes, winter walking routes and the Nordic competence centre make the Seefeld plateau one of Tyrol’s strongest winter destinations.

At around 1,200 metres above sea level, the Seefeld region offers great conditions for varied winter days. Whether cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, snowboarding, winter hiking, sledging or ice skating, families, beginners and active guests will find plenty of ways to enjoy winter in nature.

The easily accessible activities around Leutasch and Seefeld make holidays pleasantly flexible: active hours in the snow, quiet paths through the winter landscape and shared time at the Alpine Chalet can be combined with ease.

The region also offers special trails such as floodlit tracks, a dog trail and opportunities for sled cross-country skiing.

Since 2010, biathletes have had access to one of the most modern biathlon facilities in Europe at the Nordic Competence Centre.

Nordic competence centre

Top-level sport right in Seefeld

The biathlon stadium, ski jumps, snowmaking systems and training infrastructure show just how strong the region is in Nordic sports. Professionals and ambitious leisure athletes benefit alike.

The Nordic Competence Centre offers two completely new ski jumps, a biathlon facility with the latest technology, 279 km of cross-country ski trails linked to a snowmaking system and, in summer, a roller ski track - the ultimate standard in the alpine region and clear proof of the Seefeld region’s great expertise in Nordic sports. The competence centre and its arena provided the ideal setting for the Nordic competitions of the Winter Youth Olympic Games, which were held in the Seefeld region in 2012.
